Rural Family Support Worker

Rural Family Support Workers at MDSS strive to assist families with children aged 0-18 years to gain the knowledge, skills and resources to provide for the physical, social and emotional needs of their children.

  • Improve the wellbeing and safety of children, young people and their families through positive family support.
  • Providing parenting strategies to parents and carers to build the capacity of the family to care for and protect their children.
  • Provide information, support and referrals to enable families to access the resources to build their capacity to solve problems and make positive choices and changes.
  • Assisting children and youth aged 0-18 years with self-esteem issues, risk taking behaviours, anger management problems, risk of early school disengagement and adjustments with separation and divorce.

Eligibility: Children aged 0-18, Parents and Caregivers.
